Morning Madness You’ll Love

Looking for an extra boost of energy in the morning but you’re short on time? Grab a jump rope and do a 1 minute bout of non-stop cardio. Start off with a pace that’s comfortable for you and as you progress, add more revolutions (go faster). It only takes a minute, so you really have no excuse! So grab a stop watch and don’t stop until the 1 minute mark is reached. This is quick and easy, and will certainly wake you up and get you off on a good foot.

Tip Of The Day

Are you ‘turned on’? And no, I don’t mean that ‘50 Shades of Grey’ type of ‘turned on’. Today’s modern lifestyle does not make it easy for us to be healthier or make health a priority, but if we keep ourselves ‘turned on’, the information and opportunities will make themselves available. So stay ‘turned on’, stay aware, stay active.

Tip for Today

If you’re not satisfied with the bulge in your mid-section, try eliminating sugar and artificial sweeteners from your meals and beverages. This will reduce inflammation and give you a slimming stomach that you will be proud to show off. Happy Hump Day!

Tip For Today

Love yourself enough to call yourself out on your own bullshit. We often act like we have the right to make excuses for not living up to our own expectations. YOU know what potential you possess, so do not give yourself excuses for not living up to your greatness. Less than your own ‘fabulousness’ is not good enough! Be your full fabulous self.

Tip for today: The weather has gotten warmer and kids are gearing down from school and shifting upward for months of fun in the summer sun. As the weather gets hotter, it’s easy to turn to the usual ice cream, popsicle and freezie treats; but this summer, make an effort to experiment with healthier options for your kids. Instead of the usual treats with sugar, water and artificial colouring, create your own using fresh juices, fruits and nuts. Frozen cubes of fresh fruit juice or cool fruit kabobs  can be a welcomed change. Make healthy eating fun this summer.

Tip For Today

A lot of us are guilty of late night snacking. We get this overwhelming feeling of hunger when it is close to bed time which just NEEDS to be satisfied. A good way to limit late night snacking is to eat better during the day. The urge to eat, late in the evening, appears because your body is trying to make up for any lacking or missed nutrients that occurred during that day. Be sure to fuel your body at the beginning of the day with a nutritious, balanced and substantial meal. Ensure that you eat every 2 - 3 hours, getting in your healthy snacks throughout the day. This will help curb the late night hunger pangs and lead the way to total restful sleep.

Tip for Today:

There is more to core training than achieving the illusive six pack. Your core functions as protection, support and the foundation of movement for the body. Improper functioning or conditioning of the core region, can lead to back pain, gluteal malfunctioning, increased risk of injury and visceroptosis (defective transverse abdominal muscle - the body’s natural girdle). We all know about crunches but doing them only is not enough. Take time to discover different exercises that can improve and strengthen the condition and functionality of your midsection as well.
